Built in 2005, this “Castle Like” holiday home was a conceived vision of the owners and designed by Chasmic Architectural Design Ltd. It incorporates the towering, rustic beach look on an elevated site in a quiet cul-de-sac, and encompasses the structural solidness of pre-cast, thermal-rated concrete wall panelling.

No moats here! But the property is surrounded on three sides by paths and reserve walkways, featuring a private integration amongst the mature native Pohutukawa and Banksia trees with the indoor/outdoor living area. This is an area where most time is spent — by morning, in the filtered sun, having a relaxing coffee and listening to the song of the Tūī; and by night, entertaining with family and friends beside the roaring fire with a glass of red, sharing stories of the day’s adventures.

The King & Queen quarters are upstairs, with spectacular panoramic views. Far-reaching views are plentiful from the high windows, across the Whangapoua Hills featuring the Sleeping Giant, with westerly views over the Matarangi Harbour, backed by the Coromandel ranges and extending out to sea.

The downstairs bedroom/bedrooms can easily be divided depending on the number of family or guests, with full access to the downstairs bathroom facilities.
Outside is the original garage, built in 1999. This has now been converted into a very comfortable sleepout — perfect for, you guessed it, more guests to stay.
